TUESDAY, JANUARY 4:

• Review course goals
• Discuss journal writing
• Begin journal entry 1—How I spent my winter break!
• Submit w/ total word count at end of class—goal 1000 words minimum

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 5:

• Introduce The Great Gatsby—have read by February 7
• Pass out Gatsby texts
• Present vocabulary lesson 11—due Friday

THURSDAY, JANUARY 6:

• Read "Winter Dreams" in class with audio support
• Assignment: Read author biographical information—F. Scott Fitzgerald (740)

FRIDAY, JANUARY 7:

• Vocabulary 11 due upon arrival
• QUIZ: F. Scott Fitzgerald biographical information
• VIDEO: A&E—FSF: The Great American Dreamer
• Take notes—study for Monday's quiz
• Assignment: Have "Winter Dreams" read by class time Monday
