All English III Classes

Monday through Wednesday:
  • Review for finals!
    • Flashcards for literary terms REQUIRED!
    • Flashcards for general literature information (authors, characters, works)
      • Number all study guide related cards to be submitted on test day.
      • Title card should be included w/ total number of cards circled on it.
    • Literary terms worksheet will be available for review IN CLASS ONLY.
    • Cooperative groups for review—quiz each other for competency.
  • Those exempt from finals or who feel adequately prepared for finals:
    • Read novels.
    • View choice of classic American literature film
      • John Steinbeck's Cannery Row
      • Louisa Mae Alcott's Little Women
 Thursday and Friday: (1-4 on Thurs. / 5-7 on Friday)
  • Literature final will include test questions over literary terms, authors, characters, and literary works covered during the spring semester.
  • Additionally, Honors III literature final will include a critical reading section.
  • Composition final will include a timed writing asking for best writing sample on a choice of prompts given. Laptops will be used.
  • Additionally, Honors III composition final will include a revising/editing segment of formal assessment.

  • Work on end-of-year projects
Tuesday, May 17:
  • Finish "Jilting" video (10 minutes)
  • Answer questions—"Jilting"
  • TEST: "Jilting of Granny Weatherall"
Wednesday, May 18:
  • Return remaining revised essays/compositions
  • HONORS FINAL PROJECT due by end of class
Thursday, May 19:
  • PowerPoint Literary Terms Review
Friday, May 20:
  • NO CLASS—SR AWARDS ASSEMBLY
